Billie “Nadine” Parker McGhee, age 92, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord on February 19, 2026.
Nadine was born in 1933 in Quitman, AR to Garland and Nancy Cargile. She grew up as the middle child between her beloved brothers, Edward and Bobby, a role she carried throughout her life with pride. She graduated from Quitman High School and later attended Arkansas State Teachers College.
Nadine had a rare gift of making friends everywhere she went and held those friendships for a lifetime. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, raising two wonderful sons, Gary and Terry, alongside her husband of 32 years, James D. Parker. She also dedicated 21 years of faithful service to Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company until her retirement.
After the passing of her dearly loved husband Jim, Nadine was richly blessed again a few years later when she married Sam McGhee. Together, they shared nearly 30 years of companionship, love, and laughter until Sam’s passing in 2022.
Church, children, and cheering on the Razorbacks perfectly describe where Nadine spent most of her time. She truly loved her church family at Graves Memorial Baptist Church, a community that nurtured her faith and kept her love for Jesus at the center of her life. The joy of the Lord radiated from Nadine and overflowed into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
To her family, she was the FUN Memaw. She was the Memaw who bought a brand-new minivan in her 60s just so she could haul her grandkids around. She had more energy in retirement years than most people have at 20. Whether she was bowling, two-stepping, playing dominoes, or watching grandkids/great-grandkids playing sports, she was having a good time surrounded by the people she loved.
Of course, we can’t talk about Nadine without calling those Hogs! Woo Pig Sooie! She was a true fan through and through. No matter if they were winning or losing, she was going to be watching her Razorbacks with pride. It’s been said that when the Hogs were on TV the house could be burning down around her and she wouldn’t notice! She is the beloved matriarch of her family, and leaves a legacy that is rooted in faith in Jesus and love for family.
She is survived by her two sons, Gary Parker (Wava) of Conway and Terry Parker (Varnea) of Perryville; her grandchildren, Kindall Denmon (Chad) of Bryant, Clay Parker (Molly) of Mayflower, and Alicia Parker (Cody) of Perryville; her great-grandchildren, Kai Denmon, Ezra Denmon, Grey Denmon, Penn Parker, and J.D. Parker; and her brother, Bobby Cargile.
