Billy Barentine

Billy Barentine, age 87, of Kirby, passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021.

He was born on December 23, 1933, in Kirby, the son of Addis Myers Barentine and Ruby Mitchell Barentine. On July 11, 1953, he was married to Fern Simmons. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Keith Stephens, and his sister, Maxine Kersey.

Billy was a member of the Mount Joy Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and westerns, whether it was reading a western novel or watching an old western on television. He and Fern enjoyed traveling together and loved being with family, especially all of their grandkids.

He is survived by his wife, Fern Barentine of Kirby; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tina Stephens of Dierks and Tracy and Richard Merrill of Bonnerdale; three grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Dustin Brymer, Joe and Lesia Stephens and Josh Lowery; ten great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, August 23, 2021, in the Mount Joy Cemetery with Bro. Raymond Dees officiating.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Pallbearers will be his great-grandsons, Jace Stephens, Cody Stephens, Devin Stephens, Justin Gilbert, Zack Gilbert and Brock Brymer.
