It is with heavy hearts and great love that the family of Billy Mac Harris Jr., better known as Scooter, announce his passing on May 15, 2026.
Scooter was born on May 30th, 1966 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He grew up in Roland, NLR, and Lonoke Arkansas.
As a child his imagination and creativity were already larger than life. At around four years old he began entertaining the family with his “hunting “ stories about how he would go into the woods with his imaginary friend Johnny to hunt bears. He would share, in vivid detail, all the details about how they fought and somehow killed the bear despite the clear disadvantages.
He carried wonder and whimsy with him all throughout his life. He never stopped telling stories. He never had a shortage of ways to connect with those around him and he has always had a multitude of friends. He never met a stranger and just about anywhere he went he would see someone he knew.
He was an artist, a drummer, an entrepreneur, and possibly the goofiest guy you ever met. His laugh was infectious and he could light up a whole city block. He was infinitely playful and clever. He always had a joke ready. He loved to build and ride motorcycles. His kindness and compassion were without measure. He was equally likely to give you the shirt off his back as he was the pants off his ass. He worked hard and he played hard; maybe even a little too hard.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Mac Harris Sr., and his mother, Sylvia "Libby" Larue Roberts. Grandparents Lester and Dollie Harris, and Clead and Ellen Roberts. Wife Renee Harris.
He is survived by his son Billy Mac Harris III and wife Leslie; grandchildren Libby and Warren Harris; his sisters Janet Jackman, and husband Michael, and Shawna Hogan and husband Carter; nephew Chris Ray and wife Angie; great niece Jayda Ray; nieces Elizabeth, Madison, and Reagan Lawhon; great niece and nephew Everleigh and Braxton Simpson; girlfriend Christina Simmons and a seemingly endless host of cousins, family, and friends.
