Bobby Ray Parks, age 96, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2026. Born on January 15, 1930, in Ward, Arkansas, he was the beloved son of the late Virgil and Lois Parks.
Bobby was a man of quiet strength, dedication, and deep faith. He began his career with AT&T before honorably serving his country for two years in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he resumed his career with AT&T, working faithfully for a total of 38 years until his retirement. A devout man of the Methodist faith, his life was defined by his commitment to his country, his work, and above all, his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Evelyn James, Juanita Scruggs, Wayne Parks, O'Neal Parks, Warren Tony Parks, and Gerald Parks; and his cherished grandchildren, Ryan Canard and Eric Medlen.
Bobby leaves behind a profound legacy of love and devotion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Verna Parks; his three daughters, Debra (Vince) Hannon of Sherwood, Mary (Jeff) Seiter of Greenbrier, and Martha (John) Medlen of Cherry Log, Georgia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, John (Terry) Hannon, Ashley (Angelo) Martinez, Leslie (Michael) Young, Diana (Jake) Hogue, and Aaron Seiter; alongside five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
The family extends their deepest gratitude and special thanks to the compassionate team at Hospice Home Care of Searcy, with heartfelt appreciation for his special caregivers, Tamara, and Chaplain Brian King, for their tender care and support during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bobby’s memory to a charity of your choice, or to the Stop Alzheimer’s Now fund at the University of Florida Evelyn F. and William L. McKnight Brain Institute (1149 Newell Drive, Gainesville, FL 32611).
