Bobby Lloyd Ward of North Little Rock, Arkansas was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on July 5, 2026 at the age of 86. Born on July 4, 1940 in Lonoke, Arkansas. He was blessed to enjoy his last birthday surrounded by loved ones. He showed strength and courage knowing that God was in control.
He had many accomplishments during the 50 years of service with the city of North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was most proud of his time as sergeant with the North Little Rock Police Department. He served in various roles including patrol, motorcycle patrol, detective, President of the Fraternal Order of Police and Public Information Officer. After his retirement he went on to become Director of the North Little Rock Street Department then Director of Public Works for the city of North Little Rock before his final retirement in 2013.
He is survived by his children, Debra Lusk , Wanda Deaton (Greg) and Bobby Ward (Tanya).
He was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Agnes Ward, his wife Nancy Ward, grandson Shawn Hughes, granddaughter Courtney Hagar and son-in-law Bob Lusk. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Bo Hagar (Amanda), Brandon Hughes, Whitney Ward, Natalie Flowers (Joe), Kaitlyn Crum (Michael), Lainey Deaton and Zachary Ward. He has 9 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren along with extended family and friends.
His legacy will live on in his dream for Ward Mountain Ranch. He had amazing plans for his children to bring us together and keep us close. Although he wasn’t able to make the move that he dreamed of, he will always be there in spirit and in our hearts. It is now our responsibility to fulfill his wishes for us to work together, love each other and find true happiness.
Services are Thursday July 16, 2026 at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Visitation prior from 11-12pm followed by funeral at 12pm. Burial to follow at Rest Hills Memorial Park, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Officiating is Pastor Herman Hutton. Pallbearers are Bo Hagar, Corbin Hagar, Zach Ward, Joe Vance, Michael Crum and Roger Gay.
