Bonnie A. Crocheron

Listen to Obituary

Bonnie A. Crocheron, age 81, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was born on November 13, 1943, and passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025, following complications from pneumonia.

Bonnie will be remembered as a woman of remarkable strength, intelligence, generosity, and resilience. She worked hard throughout her life, endured tremendous hardship and loss, and remained someone others could always depend on. A breast cancer survivor, Bonnie faced adversity with courage and determination, carrying a strength that those closest to her witnessed time and again.

Family was at the center of Bonnie’s life. She was especially devoted to her grandson, Nicholas Upton, playing a central role in raising him and remaining a constant source of love, guidance, encouragement, and support throughout her life. One of the greatest joys of Bonnie’s later years was Nicholas’s son and her great-grandson, Hayden Axel Upton. She loved Hayden tremendously and treasured the time she was given to know him, watch him grow, and experience the joy of another generation of her family.

Bonnie’s love and care extended far beyond her immediate family. Nicholas’s close friends, including Tig, Kyle, Gary, and Parris, grew up knowing Bonnie’s home as a place where they were welcomed, cared for, fed, and treated like family. Over the years, she also opened her home to people who needed somewhere to stay, sometimes for extended periods of time, asking for little or nothing in return. She helped people financially when she was able, gave freely without seeking recognition, and was known by many as one of the kindest and most giving people they had ever known. For Bonnie, generosity was not an occasional gesture; it was simply part of who she was.

Bonnie was exceptionally hardworking and accomplished. She built a long career in banking and the financial industry that spanned more than four decades before her retirement. She was a graduate of the University of Miami in Florida, where she earned a degree in humanities, and she was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.

Beyond her work and the many responsibilities she carried for others, Bonnie enjoyed fishing and horse racing. She appreciated the things that brought her happiness and approached life with the same independence and determination that carried her through its most difficult chapters.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Marci Crocheron; her son, Victor Case; her parents, Peggy Davidson and Alfred Achard; and her best friend, Ed Crocheron. The loss of her children brought a profound grief that remained with Bonnie throughout her life, yet her capacity to love, provide for, and care for others never disappeared.

She is survived by her grandson, Nicholas Upton; her great-grandson, Hayden Axel Upton; Hayden’s mother, Shyanne; her sister, Bree Ennaco; her nieces, Carrie McLaney and Nicole Jones, all of Mobile, Alabama; her cousin, Gary Case and his wife, Sandra, of Little Rock; as well as many other relatives, friends, and people who became family through the love and generosity she showed them.

A celebration of Bonnie’s life is planned for a later date at Lake DeGray, where her ashes will be scattered alongside those of her son, Victor. Additional details will be announced once arrangements have been finalized.

Those wishing to honor Bonnie’s memory are encouraged to help someone in need, reflecting the generosity and kindness she showed throughout her life. Arrangements are being handled by Smith Little Rock Funeral Home.

Bonnie’s legacy lives on in the family she loved, the grandson she helped raise, the great-grandson who brought her so much joy, the young people she cared for as though they were her own, the people she welcomed into her home, and the many lives made better because she was there. She worked hard, loved deeply, gave freely, and remained devoted to others through some of life’s greatest challenges.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
