Bonnie Jean Crowson

Listen to Obituary

Bonnie Jean Crowson, 92, of Benton, Arkansas, peacefully entered Heaven’s gates on June 2, 2026. True to her final wishes, she was surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of her own home when she passed.

Bonnie was born in Bauxite on April 10th, 1934. She graduated from Bauxite High School in 1952 and was a life-long Bauxite Miner.

Bonnie married William Crowson “Dub” on July 10th, 1953. The two met in school many years prior and shared a beautiful marriage of 68 years until Dub’s passing in July 2021.

She enjoyed a fulfilling banking career that spanned several decades at institutions like Benton State Bank and First National of Little Rock. She loved her work so much that retirement wouldn’t stick – she actually went back to work and stayed several more years.

Bonnie had a deep passion for travel, exploring all of the United States, and visiting many countries alongside her husband and sister, Sherry. At home, she channeled that same sense of beauty into her love for flowers, creating a picturesque backyard oasis that brought her joy for many years. Photography must be mentioned, as she has thousands of pictures of her flowers and travels.

She is preceded in death by the love of her life, William Crowson; her parents, Woodrow and Dorothy Smith; brothers, Dale and Don Smith; sister-in-law, Sherry Rylander; and nephew, Glen Smith.

Bonnie leaves behind to cherish her memory: nephew, Gary Smith (Carol); cousins, Kelley & Kathrine Smith; and a host of family and friends.

Our family wants to thank Gentiva Hospice and nurses Mindy and Katie Bennett for their care and compassion. Thank you to Jessica Berry, N.P., with Midsouth Transient, for going above and beyond to get care started.

Thank you, Dr. Mark Vice, for being her doctor and for your care for many years.

Words can’t express our gratitude to Bonnie’s personal caregivers, Haleigh Sawyer, Linda Cook, and Daniel Smith. She had a special love for each one of them.

Officiating the services will be Brother Terry Parish and Brother Kim Hammer. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church, 19200 I-30 Frontage Rd., in Benton, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Services have been entrusted to Smith Benton Funeral Home. Any flowers or cards for the family can be delivered to 322 N. Market St., Benton, AR.

Final interment will follow at a later date at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, AR.
