Bonnie Gustin Hartnedy

Bonnie Gustin Hartnedy was born June 28, 1942 to the late Bill and Mae Gustin. Bonnie died December 14, 2023 in the ER of Baptist hospital of a cardiac arrest.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years Deacon John Hartnedy and their 5 sons: John, Bill (Shelly), Matthew (Kathleen), Deacon Danny (Stephanie) who will celebrate Bonnie’s vigil service, Joshua, and 9 grandchildren (who called her Mimi) (including Father John Paul who will celebrate her funeral mass) and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her 5 siblings, their spouses and children (11 nieces and nephews).

She met her husband as a student nurse while he was in the hospital. She got her RN in 1963 and married John on September 26,1964. She started the Pregnancy Problem Center in the late 70’s, saving countless babies while comforting their mothers. She brought a number of girls home until they could get on their feet (saying once “I hope our boys don’t think teenage girls come pregnant”).

She and John kept babies until their adopting parents could complete the adoption process. The spirits of all those babies and mothers will be welcoming our loving wife, mother, and grandmother into heaven.

The family will host a visitation at 9:00 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with rosary to follow at 9:30 AM. The mass will be at 10:00 AM.
