Brenda Oneda Bridges, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026. She was born May 11, 1954, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and spent her life loving her family and enjoying the simple things that meant the most to her.
Brenda found joy in everyday moments. She loved working in her garden and took pride in watching things grow. Fishing and spending time at the lake brought her a lot of peace. She also enjoyed taking pictures and videos, always wanting to hold on to special memories with the people she loved. Brenda liked working crossword puzzles, cooking, and watching cooking shows, along with her favorite series, Yellowstone. Some of her happiest times were spent having cookouts with family, where everyone could gather, laugh, and just be together. When she was able, she attended Christ is the Answer Fellowship in Bryant, where she found comfort and connection.
She is survived by her children, Ramona Rowland, Chris Smith and his wife Charlotte, and Jackie Bridges; her longtime companion of ten years, Jack Griffin; her grandchildren, Chris Smith, Jr., Brenda Beasley and her husband Brandon, and Will Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Brandon Beasley, Jr. and Travis Beasley. She is also survived by her siblings, Patrick Laster and his wife Steina, Vince Laster, Laurel Beach and her husband David, and Lisa Doyle and her husband Vernon, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie Bridges; her sons, Donny Paul Smith, Travis Smith, and Jacob Bridges; and her parents, Thomas and Emma Jean (Hunter) Laster.
A visitation will be held on April 22, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Summit Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to come, remember Brenda, and celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations be made towards the unexpected funeral costs by calling Smith-Benton Funeral Home at 501-778-7100.
Brenda will be remembered for her kind heart, her love for her family, and the way she made people feel at home. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
