Brenda Joyce Tackett Wallis, 70, of Little Rock, passed away January 2, 2014 at St. Vincent Infirmary. She was born October 30, 1943 at Dardanelle to Louis and Violet Morgan Tackett. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Tackett, brother, Paul E. Tackett and step-father, Idus Bullock. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jack Wallis; her mother, Violet Morgan Tackett Bullock; her sister, Norma Jones Bishop; nephews, Greg Jones and wife, Elizabeth and Michael Wallis; and many great-nieces.
Brenda graduated from Dardanelle High School in 1961 and attended business school at Fort Smith. Most of her working years were in the business of finance until she became disabled in 1978. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.
Services will be Sunday, January 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.), officiated by Mr. Nick Hamilton. Visitation will precede the service, beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Little Rock Community Mental Health Center, 4400 Shuffield Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205.
