Britt Rice was born January 2, 1939 in Berlin Germany and passed away July 10, 2017 in Little Rock, AR. Britt and her family were displaced by and suffered greatly due to the effects of World War II and its aftermath.
Britt married Martin Rice and moved to Miami, Florida in 1967. They relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee where she earned a B. A. at the University of Tennessee. As an employee of the American Red Cross, Britt was transferred to Little Rock where she later worked for the City of Little Rock. In 1987, Britt became Director of Personnel (later Human Resources) and held that position until her retirement in 1999. During that period, she also earned a Master of Public Administration at the University of Arkansas Little Rock and served as adjunct faculty in that program.
Survivors include two sons, Jonas Rice (Sarah) of Knoxville, Tennessee and David Rice. There are three grandchildren, Caroline, Olivia and Grant. In addition to her family, there are numerous colleagues, friends and acquaintances who will miss her very much.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Pulaski County or to a charity of your choosing.
