Buddy "Bud" Adam Guyot

Buddy “Bud” Adam Guyot was born August 30, 1942, in Beebe, Arkansas, to Sid and Lorene Guyot. A lifelong resident of Beebe, Bud built his life around his family, agriculture, and the community he called home. A 1960 graduate of Beebe High School, Bud was a talented athlete who excelled in both football and track and was voted Most Athletic by his graduating class. He was a standout football player for the Badgers until a severe injury during his senior year ended his football career. He was also an accomplished horseman and, in his younger years, was known for trick riding. Following high school, Bud served in the National Guard. Bud spent his entire adult life working at Beebe Livestock Auction, the family business founded by his father, where he became a familiar voice as an auctioneer for livestock, horse, and goat sales. He was also a lifelong farmer and cattleman, owning cattle for many years and, at one point, operating his own dairy. Bud was known as a hardworking, dependable man whose word meant something. He treated people fairly, took care of his responsibilities, and quietly did what needed to be done. Over the years, he earned the respect of the many people who knew him through the auction, farming, and the Beebe community. Bud is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sandy Guyot, his daughters, Sherri DeVore and Shanie Guyot Orman, his grandchildren, Cortnie (Daniel) Byrd, Shalen DeVore, Lexi DeVore, Macy Gillette, and Shayne Guyot Orman, and his great grandchildren, Charlie and Beau Byrd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Lorene Guyot, his sister, Sidney Ann Blakemore, and his nephew, Ronnie Dill. Bud leaves behind a life deeply connected to his family, his community, and the livestock business he spent decades helping carry forward. He will be remembered as a man who worked hard, treated people right, and earned the trust and respect of those who knew him.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Sylvania Cemetery. Online guest book at www.smithfamilycares.com
