Candice Emelia “Illich” Douglas, 51, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on November 21, 2025. Born on June 25, 1974, in Yuba City, California, Candice devoted her life to caring for others.
Candice married the love of her life, Woody Douglas in 2004, and together they built a beautiful, blended family.
Throughout her professional life, Candice wore many hats. She is a military veteran who served time in the Air Force where she earned a National Defense Medal, she was a coordinator for the Central Arkansas swim team, and was a Sunday school teacher for the sixth grade class at St Jude's the Apostle Catholic, as well as being heavily involved with the Cabot Christian School Co-op.
Candice is survived by her devoted husband, parents; Karen (Randy) Kemp and Vernon (Barbara) Illich, her children; David Douglas, Dalton (Alexis) Buck, Amanda (Dakota) Snelson, Devin Douglas; her grandchildren Barrett, Tucker, Clay, Lyliah, and future grandson Carter, siblings; Bobbi Thompson, Randy (Stephanie) Kemp and Casey (Zack) Stewart, as well as numerous extended family members and friends who adored her.
Preceding Candice in death are her maternal grandparents Charles Scanlon and Lorraine Scanlon of Sacramento, California , as well as paternal grandparents Joseph and Emelia Illich of Dickinson, North Dakota.
Candice cherished her children and grandchildren above all else. She enjoyed supporting the many passions of her family like soccer, swimming, and archery, which she also enjoyed participating in as well with her family. She was known for always doing for others more than herself, giving generously and loving fiercely.
Candi lived doing what she did best, taking care of others.
