Carles Roy Williams age 78 of Bismarck went to be with his Lord on May 28, 2011 in Hot Springs. He was born march 29, 1933 in Bismarck the son of the late Carles and Jessie Wood Williams. He worked for Bismarck School and was self-employed as a mechanic. He was preceded in death by one brother, Murry Williams.
Bro. Williams was a Missionary Baptist preacher for forty-one years. He pastored several churches and helped establish Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church in Pearcy, Arkansas. He was a member and pastor of West Main Missionary Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas. He loved his family, friends, his church and most of all his Lord and Savior.
He is survived by his wife of almost fifty-nine years, Elwanda Shuffield Williams whom he married on July 21, 1952; three daughters, Diane Burris and husband, Randall; Debbie Garrett and husband, Dickie all of Bismarck, Arkansas; Donna Bost of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Hiram Williams of Dallas, Texas; Lee Williams and Johnny Williams both of Bismarck, Arkansas and one sister, Joyce Warman of Magnet Cove, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 31st at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Arkadelphia with Bernard Strother and Pat Greer officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
