Carol Ann Wiggins Carlan went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Born and raised with a heart full of purpose, Carol graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1965 and from Arkansas State University in 1969. She broke barriers as one of the first few female patrol officers in Dallas, Texas, and courageously served on the SWAT team. Later, she continued her lifelong calling of service as a school counselor for the Pulaski County Special School District, guiding and supporting young people with wisdom and compassion.
Above all, Carol spent her life helping others and demonstrating the love of God wherever she went. Her faith was not merely spoken—it was lived, quietly and consistently, in the way she cared for family, friends, and strangers alike.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Gloria Wiggins.
Carol is survived by her devoted son, Bryan Carlan (Robin) of Sherwood, Arkansas; her cherished grandchildren, Peyton Carlan of North Little Rock and Mason Carlan (Emma) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and one great-grandchild expected in February. She is also survived by her sister, Vicki Jones; her brother, Randy Wiggins (Shelly); and her niece, Jaclyn Williams.
A visitation will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2026, at Impact Church, 5500 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Rest Hills Cemetery in North Little Rock. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Impact Church in her memory.
Carol’s life was a living testimony of strength, service, and grace.
Her memory will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
