Carol Morrison

Carol Reames Morrison went to be with our heavenly Father after a valiant battle with cancer.  She passed peacefully on April 20, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Carol was born on April 7, 1941, to Fred Raimond Reames and Bertie Forrest Reames of El Dorado, Arkansas.  She was one of nine children and the youngest of the five Reames girls.  After graduating from El Dorado High School, Carol lived in New Orleans, Louisiana and Spokane, Washington before returning to El Dorado.   It was there that she met the love of her life Rev. Garland Morrison.  She would join him in a life of ministry that lasted four decades and lead them to Sunnycrest Baptist Church in Marion, Indiana; Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas and Bono Baptist Church in Greenbriar, Arkansas.  She would travel with him on his many revivals across the United States, volunteer at the church and coordinate the travels and activities of 400 senior adults in the Super Sixties program.  Carol was the epitome of a loving pastor’s wife, known for her gift of giving and her caring spirit.   “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.” She was the living example of the Proverbs 31 woman.

Left to cherish her legacy of faith and love for Lord is her husband Garland Morrison and her stepchildren Deb Haddadi (Mahdi); Susan Smith (Brad); David Morrison (Jeri); Connie Cartwright (Clay); six grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son Todd Nethercutt; five adult siblings, Marguerite Jackson, Shirley Tilley, Joanne Barnette, Patsy Chandler and Fred Reames. She also left behind many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

Services will be April 25 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Immanuel Baptist Church, 501 N. Shackleford Road, Little Rock, AR 72211.   Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service.
