Listen to Obituary

Carol Lynn Wallis peacefully passed away on March 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 21, 1945, in Hudson, Michigan, to Ernest and Marie Rupley and lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and devotion to her family and friends.

Carol shared a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Larry Douglas Wallis. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and deep mutual respect. Their 30-year marriage was rooted in devotion and partnership, creating countless cherished memories for their family.

Affectionately known to her family as “Chops,” Carol had a gift for making people feel welcome. She never met a stranger, and her kind heart and genuine smile left a lasting impression. Though small in stature, she had a heart overflowing with love and affection and was deeply loyal to those she loved.

As the oldest of eight children, caring for others came naturally. That nurturing spirit followed her throughout life and was evident in the way she cared for her family. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcome, and her kitchen was often the heart of it all. Carol was an incredible cook and delighted in preparing meals for those she loved.

No visit with Carol was complete without a “Chops bag,” filled with layer upon layer of wonderful treasures. It was one of many small ways she showed her love.

Through determination, Carol earned her Associate’s degree and devoted more than 35 years to a career as a Certified Professional Coder at UAMS, taking pride in her work until retirement.

Carol found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved tending to her flowers and spending time in her garden. She enjoyed visiting flea markets and garage sales, often mapping out a route to stop at each one. She was always up for a good adventure and never passed up an opportunity to make a memory. Carol also loved documenting life’s moments, taking countless photographs to preserve cherished memories.

One of her greatest acts of love was the courage she showed in seeking healing and personal growth through Al-Anon. With faith in God’s grace and guidance, she bravely confronted and broke long-standing patterns of codependency that had affected generations before her. Through prayer, perseverance, and trust in the Lord’s mercy, she helped create a new path for her family by teaching her children and grandchildren the value of healthy boundaries, self-respect, and the freedom that comes from living in truth.

Carol was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Larry Douglas Wallis; her parents; and her brother, Jim Rupley.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her children, Shannon McCoy, Robyn (Neal) Reeves, Jamie Marie Ables, Scott (Cathy) Wallis, and Wade (DeAnna) Wallis; her grandchildren, Chase (Lindsay) Geary, Jamie Elizabeth (Andrew) Bell, Rebekah (Mark) Harper, McKinley Ables, Jackson Ables, Brandon (Katie) Wallis, Austin (Cheyenne) Wallis, Brooke (Caleb) Harpole, Morgan (Jordan) Wallis, Alyxiss (Lance) Vann, Britney (Aaron) Beumeler, Justin (Amanda) Reeves, Kaitlyn (Chase) Imhoff, and Brandon Reeves; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Kathy (Jim) Johnson, Beth (Phil) Morse, Mary (Rod) Clark, Tom Rupley, Steve (Sandra) Rupley, and Joe (Theresa) Rupley, along with countless family and friends who will miss her dearly.

A Rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4000 N. Rodney Parham Rd., Little Rock, Arkansas. A reception in the Family Life Center will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arkansas Food Bank. Carol had a generous and caring heart, and the family feels she would be honored to know that her memory continues to help provide meals and support to those in need.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Baptist Hospice, Josh Brahler, Lashanda Tucker, and Dr. Brad Baltz, along with his entire office and staff, for their compassionate care and kindness.

Carol’s life was a reflection of love, kindness, and devotion. The warmth she shared will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
