Carolyn Maxine Caldwell

Listen to Obituary

Carolyn Maxine Caldwell, joined our Lord and Savior in glory on June 28th, 2025. She was born in Hot Springs, AR on June 4th, 1937. She was the daughter of John Wesley Johnson and Vera Muse Johnson. She married the love of her life, Hershel Clyde Caldwell Jr., on September 18th, 1970 and together they had their son, Joey Caldwell.

Carolyn spent her life devoted to the Lord, her family and helping others. Everyone who knew her knew she would give everything she had to help someone. If the Lord were to send angels to earth as human, she was the best of them.

Carolyn’s legacy will be carried on through the son she did an incredible job of raising to be a loving and devoted man and her granddaughter (the apple of her eye) whom she gifted her amazing art talent and her baking skills that would blow Martha Stewart away. She was an incredible, kind and caring mom #2 to her daughter in law, Kayla. She made her family feel cherished in every way, even when we had bratty moments.

After her husband passed, Carolyn’s passion became a ministry known as Feeding God’s Sheep that fed those who had loved ones in the hospital in ICU. She knew the toll taken on the families in that situation and wanted to help in the best way she knew how, with absolutely divine pound cake, love and Jesus.

Carolyn was one of the sweetest, kindest, most caring people a person could ever meet. She had a beautiful smile and an even more beautiful soul.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Caldwell, her brother Edward Johnson, and her parents, John and Vera Johnson.

Carolyn is survived by her beloved son Joey Caldwell, daughter in law, Kayla, her cherished granddaughter Alexus Caldwell, her brother, Larry (Debbie) Johnson, sister June Southall, and several nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews and other family.

Pallbearers will be Joey Caldwell, David Porter, Monty Coffman, Walter Hyde, Larry Johnson, and Terry Whitley.
