Carolyn Clark Tennyson died peacefully in her home on January 31st, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was 74 years old. Carolyn was born November 8th, 1951, in Arkadelphia. She was the daughter of Charles and Mary Ella (Crook) Clark. She graduated from Arkadelphia High School with honors and attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for two years where she was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. She graduated from Henderson State University in 1974 completing a BA in Literature and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and New Orleans where she earned a Master’s Degree in Medical Library Science and was employed by The Library at UAMS in Little Rock.

In 1980 Carolyn married Tim Tennyson from Smackover. They had two children Christopher Clark and Elizabeth Claire. In 1985 they moved from Smackover to El Dorado. While in El Dorado Carolyn was active in the Methodist Church as well as many school and community organizations including South Arkansas Arts Center, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. She served as President of the Pierian Club and was a Board Director of Bancorp South.

In 2005 she moved to Hot Springs. During this time she served on the Board of Trustees of Henderson State University and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where she was ordained as an Elder and Deacon. She was also a member of PEO and served as President of The Progressive Club.

Carolyn is survived by her two children, Clark Tennyson (Katie) of Arkadelphia and Claire (Nick) Miller of Hot Springs and two grandsons Thomas Clark Tennyson and Garrison Gage Miller. She is also survived by two sisters, Peggy Clark of Hot Springs and Elizabeth Bozik (Tim) of Montclair, NJ and two nephews Charles Bozik of Brooklyn, NY and Edward Bozik of New York City, NY.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Saturday, February 14th at the First Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs or The Caring Place, Hot Springs.

The family is grateful to the caregivers of Home Instead & Elite Hospice for their dedication and the compassionate care they gave to Carolyn.
