Carolyn Cecelia Goss Trulove, the beloved wife of the late Rev. Harry D. Trulove, and cherished mother of Teresa Walker (Glenn), David Trulove (Susan), and Timothy Trulove (Kelley) joined Harry and received her place in the heavenly choir on October 17, 2024. Carolyn was born to Leonard and Gertrude Goss on Thursday, November 13,1930. She and Harry were married on Sunday, January 16, 1949. She leaves the following legacy of grandchildren and great-grandchildren: grandchild: Jerri Walker, Doug Walker (deceased) & Tara Walker Meacham (Wes} and great-grandchildren: Jordan and Savannah, grandchild: Shawn Trulove (Sacha) and great-grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, Jaedon, Anastasia, & Clara, grandchild: Joshua Trulove (Mindy), grandchild: Alex Trulove (Alicia), great-grandchildren Liam, Ellington and Reverie, and grandchild: Landon Trulove (Pia) great grandchildren: Davy and Elias. Carolyn also leaves her youngest sister Charlotte Thweatt who resides in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Carolyn’s additional legacy is the years she served alongside Harry in the various churches in Texas, the Texas State Southern Baptist Convention, and the Arkansas Baptist Foundation. Carolyn was truly Harry’s partner in every way. No church was without a soloist on Sunday mornings if Carolyn was there, no baby’s diaper unchanged, or bereaved person comfortless. Mom stood ready with her famous “Nana’s” Snickerdoodles as her grandchildren called them, for there were always rolls of cookie dough in the freezer, ready to slice and bake to be taken to those in need. Carolyn brightened every senior citizen facility she resided in the last sixteen years with her favorite red color, butterflies, smiles, and funny personality. The last few weeks she frequently saw butterflies guiding her to heaven. The family is especially grateful for the loving skillful care of The Hospice Home Care on Bowman Rd. its staff, and the thoughtful support they provided the family. We thank God for the blessing our mom, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother has been to our lives, but most of all, for the legacy of faith she and Dad instilled in us. As Dad would say, AMEN! Welcome home.
A graveside service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Jack Meckfessel of Dwell Ministries will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock, Arkansas: https://www.hospicehomecare.com/.
