Carolyn Sue Pledger Wynkoop

     Carolyn Sue Pledger Wynkoop, of Conway, Arkansas, born December 4, 1941, in Monroe County, Arkansas, a wonderful mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed peacefully January 3rd, 2025, at the age of 83, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bascom Dallas Pledger and Mary Murray-Pledger from Monroe, AR as well as her sister, Deborah Catherine Pledger-Pillow, from Forrest City, AR. She is survived by her husband, Dale Wynkoop of Conway, children Matt (Amy) Hubbard of Conway, Sandy (Mike) Woolsey and Debbie Bechtel both of Missouri, and Jason (Dilcy) Wynkoop of Conway, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

     Sue was a life-long follower of Christ who diligently found ways to serve others, whether through missions and women’s ministry work through her church, Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway, or through various volunteer opportunities throughout her entire adult life, including Birthright and Life Choices, both pro-life organizations. She worked in various positions in the healthcare industry, including education at St Vincent Infirmary and patient and family care at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, both in Little Rock, AR. She had a contagious and welcoming spirit, smile, and laugh that put all who knew her at ease. Sue was passionate about family and always made herself available to anyone needing help, providing Godly wisdom and guidance. She was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and celebrated their accomplishments and goals with love and delight.

      A Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., January 8th, 2025, at Woodland Heights Baptist Church in Conway (4215 Prince St.). Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. January 7th, at Smith Family Funeral Home-Conway (1751 Dave Ward Dr.). Graveside committal will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Whitechurch Cemetery in Monroe, AR for family and friends that wish to attend.
