Carroll Wayne Self, age 64 of Searcy, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was born on September 25, 1961, in Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was the son of Glynn and Betty Self.

He battled cancer and went into remission on January 12, 2026.

He surrendered to the ministry in 1987 and was ordained on November 17, 1991, to become a pastor. He was currently the pastor at Westview Missionary Baptist Church. On March 12, 1982, he married the love of his life, Susan Young, and they spent 44 loving years together before the Lord called him home. 

He loved hunting, especially turkey hunting with his daughter and son-in-law in Missouri, fishing with his two grandsons, and going to watch his son-in-law dirt track race. He loved going to church camp and being around kids. He also enjoyed woodworking.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glynn Self, his brother, Bruce Self; his father-in-law, Lonnie Young; and his baby daughter, Samantha Joann. 

Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Self, his daughters and their spouses, Rebekah and Steven Reilly from Pearcy, Arkansas and Rachel and Derek Brown from Stoutland, Missouri, and his two grandsons that he adored, Lucas Reilly and Kade Brown. He is also survived by his mother, Betty Sue Self of Kirby, Arkansas, his brother and his wife, Gary and Dorothy Self of Benton, Arkansas, his sister and her husband, Mechelle and Greg Smith of Kirby, Arkansas, his mother-in-law, Margaret Young from Black Springs, Arkansas, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and a host of wonderful friends and church family.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel - Glenwood, with Bro. Donnie Davis officiating.

Interment will be held at Ebenezer Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Funderburk, David Whisenhunt, Mark Foshee, Jeff Small, Sam Davis, Tim Gentry, Kelly Doster, and Lynn Tolleson. 

Honorary pallbearers will be the Kirby High School class of 1979.
