Catherine Justice Williams, 85, of Little Rock, born October 15, 1926, died peacefully in her home on Saturday, February 11, 2012. She was attended by her most loving caretaker, Della Frazier and was receiving hospice care.
Catherine was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was taught to be a gentile southern Christian lady. She was also a member of Western Hills Country Club where she enjoyed 18 holes of golf for as long as she was able. She was a member and active for many years at the Little Rock Bridge House. She never had any difficulty finding a partner of any age. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Southern State University in Magnolia and retired as a purchasing manager for the book store at UALR.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Mattie Newman Justice, sisters, Annie, Louise and Yvonne, and her brother, Perry. Catherine lost her beloved husband of 66 years, Dr. Ralph Williams, on August 17, 2011.
She is survived by her adoring son, Dr. Ronald E. Williams; daughter, Joanie L. King; granddaughters, Dawn Ball and husband, Dennis and Erika King; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Douglas Price, Jessica Rainey Williams, and Alex, Ashley and Adam Ball. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mae Champlain, Dot Yielding, Anne Smith, Judy Skully and Bobbie Bohanan; and a host of other family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all the lives she touched and blessed with her friendship. Her family will forever keep her in their hearts.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 15 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Charles W. Barfield and Rev. Tim Wicker. Interment will follow at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
