Cecil Hill Jr.

Cecil B. Hill, Jr. passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, having recently celebrated his 85th birthday with cherished family and lifelong friends. He was the son of Cecil B. Hill and Isabel “Tibby” Ambort Hill, born and raised in Little Rock, and the eldest of seven siblings. A gifted storyteller and larger-than-life character, he loved sharing tales of his days at Catholic High with a special group of friends, including Pete Hornibrook and Billy Isom, who remained steadfast friends for his lifetime. A natural salesman, Cecil dedicated nearly 60 years to selling beauty supplies to hair salons across Arkansas. He was known for his natural quick wit, famous one-liners, and joking sense of humor until his last day. He found immense joy in his three beloved Australian shepherds who were a constant source of happiness in his life. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents as well as his siblings, Chris Hill and Missy Carmack.

He will be deeply missed by his four children, Cheryl Hearnsberger (Graves), Cecil B. Hill III, Mark Hill, and Scott Hill (Lisa), his four grandchildren and four great- grandchildren, his siblings, Diane Blackwood (Glenn), Danny Hill (Lynn), Gary Hill (Linda), and Betty Martin (Tim) and his cousin, Tommy Thomason with whom he shared a brotherly bond. Blessed with a long and fulfilling life, Cecil cherished the people and things he loved the most. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and he will never be forgotten. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the entire staff at The Blake on Chenal for their exceptional care and support over the past few months, particularly the kindness and dedication of Pam Morris. As well, we deeply appreciate Katie Book for finding a new home for Cecil’s dogs, keeping them together in a loving home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Catholic High School for Boys or the Little Rock Animal Village. A private memorial service to honor Cecil’s life will be held in the near future.
