Charlene Robertson King, age 95, of Mountain Home, formerly of Beebe, passed from this life on Saturday, June 28, 2025. She was born in Parks on September 9, 1929, to R.C. and Nellie Spires Robertson. She was a member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe where she enjoyed many years of faithful service to our Lord alongside her beloved husband, Howard E. King, to whom she was united in marriage on October 28, 1952.
Howard and Charlene proudly lived the military life for 20 years, residing in Texas, Germany, Arkansas, Oregon, Canada, and Virginia. After retiring in 1971, they enjoyed their time in Marion County, near Bruno, working on a farm and teaching their boys countless life lessons along the way. They moved to East Camden in 1979, and then to Beebe in 1987, always making numerous new friends, leading Sunday School classes and sharing their love for the Lord with others. They relocated to Mountain Home in 2020 and felt right at home with the new acquaintances they made in their retirement community. Charlene continued to thrive in her community after Howard went to be with the Lord in 2022. She did everything with a smile and brought joy and laughter to her loved ones and friends.
She is survived by three sons: Howard T. King (Juanita) of Beebe, Charles R. King of Beebe, and Edward J. King (Vonda) of Mountain Home; five grandchildren: Arwen Taylor (Chris) of Collierville, Tenn., Leah Ward (Ross) of Jenks, Okla., Daniel King of Rogers, Kirstie Recktenwald (Nathan) of West Plains, Mo., and Laura King of Beebe; six great-grandchildren; one sister, JoAnn DeWitt of Little Rock; and one brother, Kenneth Robertson of Watson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Janelle Crose and Billie Jean Allen.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, July 5, at 2:00 p.m. at Union Valley Baptist Church, 932 US-64, Beebe, with Bro. Tommy Miller officiating. Interment to follow at Grissard Cemetery in El Paso. Memorials may be made to Union Valley Baptist Church or to The Wounded Warrior Project.
