Charles Wesley Burke

Charles Wesley Burke, 73, of Beebe Arkansas rode his last ride on November 14th, 2023.  Charles was born on January 9, 1950, in Jacksonville, Arkansas, to the late Charley and Rosa (Bayless) Burke.    He was a lineman for many years and owned his own business.  He loved riding horses with all his kids and grandkids.  He and his wife also milked cows for 21 years before switching to beef cows.  Charles loved nicknaming everyone.  Just to name a few – we have Cotton, Rabbit, Dawg, Goose, Possum, Warden, Newt, Bubba Bubba, and Chigger.  There are a few others we can’t print!

He is survived by his loving wife June (Perrette) Burke of Beebe, Arkansas; three sons Michael (Kari) Lakin of Rosebud, Arkansas; James (Annie) Burke of Beebe, Arkansas, and Joshua Burke of Cabot, Arkansas as well as three daughters, Michele Lawson of Beebe, Arkansas, Amanda (Leonard) Rohrscheib of Lexa, Arkansas, and Courtney (Tater) Wilbanks of Beebe, Arkansas; four bonus children, Dawg Banks, Smore Wright, Bubba Wright and Jason Maddox; two brothers, Dale (Linda) Burke of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas, Joe (Edith) Burke of Ward, Arkansas; five sisters, Elva (the late Steve) Piraina Newnam, Georgia Joan (Kent) Thomas of Sherwood, Arkansas, Diane (David) Emerson of Ward, Arkansas, Marilyn Burke of Ward, Arkansas and Charlene (Keith) Mann of Ward, Arkansas; seventeen loving grandchildren – Easton, Weston, C.J., Jamie, Chase, Austin, Allie, Tyler, Bailey, Brooklyn, Lindsay, Logan, Tiffany, Emily, Jaxon, Jayce, and Charlie Grace; three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Rosa Burke, his brother Stanley Burke, nephews Jason Ingle and Bubba Head, and niece Nikki Burke.

Visitation is planned for Friday, November 17^th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. to be followed by the funeral service promptly at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry, Beebe, Arkansas.  Interment is at Monk Cemetery.  Arrangements by Smith Westbrook.  To view the online registry please visit www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook
