Charles Garner

Charles G. Garner, 91, of Beebe, Arkansas, passed away August 9, 2012, at the Beebe Retirement Center. He was born March 19, 1921, in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of A. J. (Jack) and Ruth Garner. He retired from an Air Force career to Beebe with his late wife, Mary Alice. He was active at the Beebe Christian Outreach Center, the Beebe Shepherd Center and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Beebe. Over his life, Charles enjoyed a wide range of interests including gardening and collecting Civil War relics.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice, and a grandson, Brian Johnson. He is survived by daughters Linda Johnson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Suzanne O'Dea and her husband Tom of Lake George, New York; one grandson, James Johnson; and two great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe. Funeral will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at Westbrook Funeral Home, with burial in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
