Charles Earl Hightower, age 93 of Little Rock, passed away February 23, 2013 at Baptist Hospital. He was born on July 30, 1919 in Dardanelle; he was the son of Joseph Luther and Tillie Wells Hightower.
Earl (Papa) was a carman for Rock Island Railroad for twenty nine and a half years.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Elsie L. Hightower; sister, Ruby Hamilton; brother Joseph Ray Hightower and grandson Charles Gregory Hightower.
Survivors include sons, Earl E. Hightower of Fort Smith and Larry G. Hightower of Little Rock; daughter, Janet Yates of Little Rock; sisters Faye Carter of North Little Rock and Evelean Stogdell of Dardanelle; Grandchildren, Terri Waller of Maumelle, Penny Phillips of Bryant, Earl Hightower Jr. of Marble City, OK and Michael Hightower of Little Rock; 7 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.
Graveside services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Pinecrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Alexander.
Visitation will be Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 11:30am until 1:30pm at Huson Funeral Home in Little Rock.
