Charles L. Eudy, age 75, of Norman, died Sunday, January 27, 2013. He was born on October 15, 1937 at Dierks, the son of Ruby Eudy and Essie Westbrook Eudy. On October 31, 1958, he was married to Shirley Head. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Clarice Roden and Janice Duggan; and one brother, Herschel Eudy. He was a member of the Norman United Methodist Church where, at one time, he had served as pastor as well as pastor of the Oden United Methodist Church. He was very active in VIM, Volunteers in Missions, a missions organization of the United Methodist Church, and had traveled extensively abroad and at home on volunteer mission assignments. He also served as a former district governor with the Lions Club International. He was known for his storytelling and as an accomplished musician and singer. He served as Co-Chairman of the Howard County Centennial Celebration and was awarded "Salesman of the Year" for several years in a row with Weyerhaeuser. After his retirement, he still enjoyed his employment with Wal-Mart. In 2009, he was named Montgomery County "Man of the Year". He graduated from Southern State College with a Bachelors degree in chemistry and was an Army National Guard veteran. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Eudy of Norman; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Eudy of Nashville; his daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Jeff Black of Fort Smith; his brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Connie Eudy of Sherwood; his sister and brother-in-law, Audrey Sue and Larry House of Dierks; three grandchildren, Samantha Black of Fort Smith, Wheeler Eudy and Jazy-Rose Eudy, both of Nashville; two nephews that lived in their home, Darrell Roden of Nashville and Alan Roden of DeQueen; several other nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, February 1, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Rev. Paul Coy and Rev. Will Bradford officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Head Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ralph Graves, Howard Graves, George Head, Paul Head, Joffery Putman and Rick Pruitt.
