Charles Morehead Sr

Charles (Chucke) William Morehead Sr. age 86 of Newark, Ohio formerly of Midland, Texas passed away December 19, 2010. He was born December 10, 1924 in Texarkana, Texas the son of the late Charles and Ethel Virginia Burris Morehead. Chucke received a B.S. in Geology and a Master's in Petroleum Engineering. He was involved in exploration and production of oil and gas wells all over the world. After the gas and oil business, he was a legal assistant for Gallagher and Gams Law Firm in Columbus, Ohio. Chucke was a member of the Newark Baptist Temple and U. S. Navy veteran of WW II. His parents, one daughter, Cindy Morehead Meyers and one brother, Marion Douglas Morehead preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Shelia Morehead; his children, James (Barbara) Morehead of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Jamel Crouch of Vivian, Louisiana; Doug Morehead of Houston, Texas; Donna (Greg) Anderson of Austin, Texas; Charles (Donna) Morehead Jr. of Midland, Texas; David ( Jennifer) Morehead Elmendorf AFB, Alaska; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 AM Monday, January 3, 2011 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, P. O. Box 430, Newark, Ohio 43058-0430. Local arrangements are by Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
