Charles Ray Jones

Charles Ray Jones, 55, of Bauxite, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his home. He was born on February 6, 1968, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Charlie Jones and Mary Jane Griffith Smallwood.

Charles loved his family and was a great friend. He would help anyone if he could. He was extremely funny and always had everyone around him laughing.

He was an avid collector. His favorite things to collect were old coins, arrowheads, and antique fishing lures. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and being outdoors. But more than anything, he loved being with his family and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Charlie Archer Jones, Sr, and Viola Jones; maternal grandparents, Ralph Griffith and Myrtis “Granny” Bradbury Griffith; uncles, Ralph Griffith and Leon Griffith; aunts, Kathylene Wood and Maxine Perry; and his favorite aunt, Elsie Griffith.

Charles is survived by his mother of Bryant; step-mom, Peggy Jones of Alexander; son, Sydney Ray Bradbury of Benton; sons, Cody Ray Jones and Casey Ray Jones and their mom Dianna Jones Gibbs, of Alexander; son, Cayden Dempsey of Benton; brother, Clifton Jenkins of Bauxite; sister, Karen Field and brother-in-law Prentis of Benton; step-brothers, Joey McVay and Chip McVay of Tennessee; nieces: Amber Hames, Cara Field, Cierra Nelson and Sharlai Moore; nephews: Clifton Jenkins III, Trystan Nelson and Trey Jenkins; and a host of extended family and friends.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Smith Family Funeral Home in Benton, Arkansas. Extended family and friends are invited to drop by anytime between 5:00 and 7:00 to visit and share their condolences with the family and share any fond memories they have of Charles. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family.
