Charles Dennis Sorrells, age 83, passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2025, in the comfort of his own home. Born on August 29, Charles was raised in Amity, Arkansas, where he developed the values of hard work, his pride for family, and a deep connection to the outdoors that stayed with him throughout his life.
Charles dedicated over four decades of service as manager of Southern LP Gas Utilities in Bismarck, Arkansas. He took great pride in his work and was known for his reliability, leadership, and deep commitment to those he served.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Charles had a lifelong love for hunting and fishing. He found peace in the woods and on the water, often returning home with both stories and supper. When not outdoors, he could be found in his garden, growing vegetables that he enjoyed selling almost as much as harvesting.
He was especially proud of his six great-grandchildren, often sharing stories of their milestones and accomplishments.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Pauline Sorrells, and his sister, Alice Sorrells.
Charles is survived by his younger brother Billy Sorrells (Norma Sorrells) and his loving wife, Gloria Gene Sorrells; his daughter, Dana Rene Owens (Deric Owens) ; his two sons, Dennis Sorrells (Shauna Sorrells) and Darren Sorrells (Jennifer Sorrells) six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and his beloved dog Nipper. His presence, warmth, and humor will be missed deeply by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Steven Plyler, Athan Lambert, Blake Sorrells, Jimmy Abshure, Mark Ligon, and Calvin Looper.
Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Fred Heinman.
Visitation will be held prior to services on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at Beaton Church.
