Charles W. Merritt, Age 79, of McRae, Arkansas, passed away on February 23, 2024. He was born on April 28, 1944, to Preston and Helen Merritt.

Charles was raised in Kansas City, Missouri from age 7. He spent his younger adult years working for Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and America Fence Company, before returning to his birth place of McRae. He loved antique cars, and country music, especially Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash.

He is survived by his sister, Joyce Howell, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Patsy Gowing; his parents, and his beloved partner, Linda Eckart.

Visitation begins at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, 2024, followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, Arkansas.  Interment will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. To view the online guest book, please visit www.smithfamilycares.com
