Charlotte Kay Smith McCardle was born on August 18, 1952 and passed away on April 29, 2016
Kay is survived by her three children; Katrina Thames, Greenfield, MO., Kristi Barrett (David), Chandler, AZ., and Kenneth Daniel Thames (Jami), Phoenix, AZ., and 9 grandchildren; Jayd & Eboni Johnson, D.J. & Joey Barrett, Mikah & Kaleb Irwin, Logan, Story Lona & Ethan Thames.
She was the daughter of Dorothy Smith Jones, White Hall, AR., and the late Leon Smith. She had one sister, Reba Miller (Gary), Albuquerque, NM. and two brothers Lonnie Smith (Barbara), White Hall, AR., and Travis Smith (Phyllis), White Hall, AR., and a Sister-in-Law Judy Smith, wife of her late brother Dennis Smith, Bella Vista, AR. Kay had five nieces and six nephews, many cousins, family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene McCardle.
Kay was an honor student and graduate of Benton High School in 1969. She attended the Gateway Bible College in MO. Kay had a special place in her heart for education and fulfilled that calling as the Administrator of Alive Christian Academy in El Paso, TX for 12 years. She was an accomplished singer, song writer and Choir Director for Alive Ministries for 20 years.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to her grandson's school, Greenfield Elementary School, 409 Montgomery, Greenfield, MO 65661 or left at Smith-Benton Funeral Home so that Kaleb and other children with special needs receive athletic, computer and job training skills.
Memorial service and reception visitation will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton, Arkansas. Online guestbook: www.SmithFamilyCares.com.
