Cheryl Ann (Lamb) Craig, 70, of Bauxite, AR, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, GiGi, and friend departed this life and moved onto the next on July 6, 2024, in Little Rock, AR.

Cheryl was born on November 11, 1954, in Warrensburg, MO, and was a graduate of Warrensburg High School. The tapestry of her life mirrored her love of sewing and quilting in the wide variety of her life’s hobbies and interests. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed the myriad of dogs, horses, and chickens she kept. Cheryl had an aptitude for drawing and painting, loved to cook and bake, taught firearm safety courses, and volunteered to sew benevolent gowns. Her sense of humor, story-telling, self-motivation, strong will, generosity, and compassion for others with grace was always on display and admired by many.

Cheryl was a former officer of the Little Rock Police Department. Before her public service, she was Executive Director of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and owner/operator of the New Image Salon & Spa in Sherwood, AR. In retirement, she served as the long-time secretary of the Benton Gun Club, enjoyed working part-time for the Stitchin’ Post in Little Rock, and was a national board member of the Smocking Arts Guild of America. 

Cheryl will be greatly missed by her husband of 24 years, George W. Craig Sr.; her sons, Carlos Avrard Jr. and Tray Scarbrough; step-son, Jason Long; step-daughter, Anna Brimhall; daughters-in-law: Amee Sorensen, Kristi Scarbrough, Traci Long and Sarah Avrard; her sisters, Debra Runk and Brenda Merriman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cheryl was blessed with ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who brought so much joy, love, and fulfillment to her life. They include grandsons: Shane Avrard, Collin Avrard, Hayden Brimhall, and Donavan Brimhall; granddaughters: Hope Avrard, Brei Brimhall, and Katey Casali; great-grandsons, Ira Avrard and Jules Avrard; and great-granddaughters: Elli-Aunna Brimhall, Empress Brimhall, and Esme Brimhall.

Cheryl was predeceased by her father, William P. Lamb Jr.; mother, MaryAnn (Little) Lamb; brothers, William Lamb III and Darrell Lamb; daughter, Celly A. Avrard; and step-son, George W. Craig Jr. 

A time for family and friends to gather to remember and honor Cheryl is set for Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 10:00 AM -12:00 PM at Smith Benton Funeral Home, 322 N Market St, Benton, AR. In place of flowers, we encourage friends and family to give a gift to a scholarship fund in Cheryl’s name to the Smocking Arts Guild of America.
