Christa Darr

Christa Gail Blucker Darr, 46, of Sherwood, after a lengthy battle with Lupus, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020. A New Years Eve baby, she was born on December 31, 1973 to James and Gail Blucker. Christa was a loving ‘brat’ of a wife, beloved sister and daughter, friend to everyone she met and an amazing momma to her ‘kiddos’ not only to Riley and Samantha, but to so many other kids she helped raise. Her ‘motherly’ career life began at an early age of babysitting, then she continued to care for kids at Easter Seals, as a private nanny and then went on to owning her own daycare for several years before she ‘retired’ from that to focus on building a family of her own. Lupus threatened to derail those plans but after some strong determination and faith in God, she was blessed with surprise twins, a boy and a girl. This began her lifetime devotion to scouts, actively involving herself in the caring and leading of so many Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, too. She immersed herself into the task of homeschooling the twins and any other kids she met along the way with the many homeschool groups and co-ops she got involved in. Since her teenage years, she was an active community member and volunteer with the local fire department and ladies auxiliary and remained an active member of Kellogg Valley Baptist Church for many years.  Aside from all of this, she enjoyed spending her time with family, cuddling up with a good book, cooking and creating in the kitchen, tending to her chickens and planning her yearly trips to Branson and wherever else she had the idea to take her kids ‘for school’.  She was determined not to let Lupus slow her down or miss out on anything in life.

She is survived by her husband Roger, of 24 years, her two fun loving kiddos, Riley (Hobo) and Samantha (Stink), her parents James and Gail, her sister, MiChelle Moore and niece Emily (Goosey), special aunts, uncles, and cousins, her Father and Mother in Law, Doug and Sherrie Darr, Brother-in-Law Robert (Rebecca), a niece and nephews, a Girl Scout Troop #6071 filled with all her favorite girls, and since she never met a stranger, more friends than you can count or keep up with.

She is preceded in death by her four grandparents, Major and Marie Blucker and GW and Virginia McCool, and her cousin Danny Owen.

Pallbearers will be Big Guy (John Linder), Michael Tatum, Matt Oldham, Elijah Montgomery, Chris Shoults, Daniel McKeehan, Mike Moss, and Nick Weaver.  Honorary Pallbearers are Chris Kennedy and Steve Ellison.  Services will be officiated by Bro. Paul Rice
