Christopher "Pop" Paul Blake

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chris Blake, who passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 57.

Born and raised in North Little Rock, Arkansas, Chris was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, cherished son, respected coach, trusted friend, and a pillar of his community. He lived a life centered on family, service to others, and a genuine love for the people around him.

For 40 years, Chris shared a life filled with love, partnership, and unwavering devotion with his beloved wife, Aurora Blake. Together they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of memories. He was the proud father of 5, and his family was his greatest joy and proudest accomplishment.

Chris was also the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren, who lovingly called him Pop. They were truly the light of his life. Pop cherished every moment spent with them—whether cheering them on, making them laugh, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the everyday moments that became treasured memories. His grandchildren knew his love was constant, and they will forever carry the lessons, laughter, and love he gave them.

A lifelong lover of soccer, Chris dedicated countless hours to coaching young athletes throughout the years. To many of the children he coached, he became much more than a coach—he was a mentor, a role model, and someone they could always count on. Those players grew into adults who continued to consider him family, a testament to the lasting impact he made on their lives both on and off the field.

Chris was also a respected and familiar presence within the Lakewood Property Owners Association, where he generously gave his time and worked to strengthen the community he loved. His commitment to Lakewood and the families within it reflected the caring and selfless person he was.

Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Aurora Blake; his children, Summer (Chase), Heather, Evan (Erica), Antonio (Carley), and Brianna (Patrick); his loving mother, Sam Blake; his 13 cherished grandchildren, who lovingly called him Pop; and many extended family members, dear friends, neighbors, and the countless players and families whose lives he touched.

Chris’s legacy is one of unconditional love, generosity, compassion, and service. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together, making everyone feel welcome, and leaving every person better than he found them. Whether on the soccer field, serving his neighborhood, or surrounded by his family, he gave his whole heart to the people he loved.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Christopher P Blake Lakewood Property Owners Association (LPOA) Memorial Sports Endowment in Chris’s memory. This fund helps provide opportunities for children who may otherwise not have the ability to participate in club sports. Continuing to give kids the chance to play, grow, and be part of a team is a beautiful reflection of the passion and dedication Chris shared throughout his life.

Though we grieve his loss, we are grateful for the years we shared with him and the countless memories that will forever remain in our hearts. His love, laughter, guidance, and unwavering support will never be forgotten.
