Christopher David Hibbs, born on December 24, 1950, was called home to be with the Lord on July 15, 2025 at age 74. He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Judy Hibbs; his parents Reuel Sr. & Lila Phillips Hibbs; his brothers Reuel Jr., Oscar, & Warren Hibbs; his sister Mary Hibbs Ward; and his grandson J.D. Echols.
He is survived by his daughters Christina Gordon (Dan) & Crystal Gaston; his sons Charles Thomason & Michael Hibbs; his stepsons Don Jr., Brandon, & Bobby Hames; his stepdaughter Holly Taylor (Terry); his sisters Joyce Garrett, Linda Hughes, Karen Hansen, Grace Rios, & Esther Hansen; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Christopher lived his entire life in Hot Springs, AR, and was known by all for his warmth, his humor, and his servant’s heart. He was a “jack of all trades” who used his self-taught mechanical and carpentry skills to help whoever had need. Throughout his years in the construction industry, Christopher amassed many friends and co-workers who can attest to his dependability and unrivaled work ethic. He applied that same level of dedication to all areas of his life, including his relationship with his savior Jesus Christ. As a devoted member of The Ark of Praise Church, he regularly contributed to their mission of “healing the hurting” and to their recovery program, The Father’s House. Christopher exemplified God’s love through his actions and service to others. Whether it be for his generosity, his comforting presence, or his charming smile, Christopher will be remembered fondly by all who had the honor to know him and be loved by him.
Services for Christopher will be held at Smith Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, July 22nd, and his memorial service, officiated by Pastor Gary Jennings, will be held at the same location on Wednesday, July 23rd at 2pm. Following the memorial service, his body will be laid to rest at Crestview Cemetery. Pallbearers include his nephews Johnny & Jody Rios, Todd & Josh Scrimshire, and his great nephews Riley Roby & Brady Harvey.
