Clara Ellen Cole Broyles

On Monday, September 8, 2025, Clara Ellen Cole Broyles passed away peacefully at the age of 93. She has lived in Arkadelphia, Arkansas for the last sixty years. Clara was born on September 17, 1931, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Clara and Ernest Cole.

She graduated from Hot Springs High School and attended Henderson State Teacher’s College.

On July 7, 1951, she married Walter (Snuffy) Broyles. They raised two children, Jim and Holly.

Clara spent twenty years working as a school secretary at Peake Elementary in Arkadelphia where she truly enjoyed collaborating with teachers and interacting with the children.

In her free time, Clara loved reading, playing bridge, and participating in trivia games. She was also passionate about her Scottish Terriers and had a deep love for dogs in general.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest; her mother, Clara; her husband, Walter; and her son, Jim. She is survived by her daughter, Holly (Darren) Hollingsworth and her two beloved grandchildren, Stewart Hollingsworth and Ashley Broyles.
