Clara Howell

Clara Howell, age 92, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018. Clara was born on June 19, 1925 in Ward, Arkansas, to Cleveland and Leona Yielding. She grew up in Lonoke County, Arkansas, and was the 4th oldest out of 8 children. Clara met her lifea��long companion of fifty years, Charles A. "C.A." Howell. The two wed on July 15, 1946, moved to Little Rock, and started their family. Clara started work at Tough Nut Factory and then moved to Teletype and Bell Telephone (now AT&T) where she ultimately retired. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and annual family gatherings. Clara's life centered around her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her granddaughters, Stephanie Cheatham (Nicholas) of Little Rock, AR, and Amanda Hardy (Rusty) of Little Rock, AR; a daughtera��ina��law, Angela Howell, of Little Rock, AR; great grandchildren, Tripp Clifton, Gabriella Kay Cheatham, Josephine Cheatham, and Ashley Floyd; a sister, Bea Cullen of Conroe, Texas; and brother, Leon Yielding (Pat) of North Little Rock, Arkansas. Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. "C.A." Howell; a son, Danny Howell; a daughter, Kay Dement; and siblings Charlie Yielding, Ray Yielding, Mattie Lee Hefner, Lena Mae Dawson, and Naomi Yielding; and many nieces and nephews.

American Cancer Society, First Baptist Church of Little Rock, or a charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., February 16, 2018, at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Arkansas.
Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery will follow the service. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 16, 2018 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral
