Clara Powell Smith

Clara Wilma (Powell) Smith, of Russellville (formerly of Sherwood), passed away November 7, 2022.  She was born October 12, 1924 to Herbert and Esther Powell.  She was raised in Butlerville, Arkansas and graduated from Beebe High School.

Clara retired from Sears in 1991 after thirty-six years as Assistant Store Manager at the McCain Mall Store in North Little Rock.  She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Sherwood.

Preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Esther Powell; husband, Julius Smith; son, Larone Smith; brothers, Horace Powell and Doyle Powell; and sister, Helen Gunter.

She is survived by her son, Danny (Ginger) Smith of Russellville; daughter-in-law, Patricia Smith of Fayetteville; grandsons, Michael (Leigh) Smith of Fayetteville; Brian Smith of Sherwood; Jason (Jennifer) Smith of Shawnee, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Kimberly (Chad) Fuhrman of Fayetteville; four great grandsons and three great granddaughters.

Visitation is from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 11^th in the Chapel at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, immediately followed by funeral services to begin at 2:00 p.m.  Burial at Butlerville Cemetery.
