Clarence Edwin (“Bud”) Humphries passed away peacefully in his home on September 6, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born on December 8, 1930, in Bessemer, Alabama to Mary Deming Mallett and Louie Herman Humphries. Clarence grew up in Alabama where he attended high school. His first job was digging bar ditches at the age of 15. After attending university in Alabama, he realized college wasn’t for him and he followed his father’s footsteps into construction.
He moved to Arkansas where he met his wife, Juanita Carol, and worked construction for Jetco Construction. Construction and tinkering in his shop – these were his biggest passions. In church and in town, everyone knew him as Bro. Bud, or Mr. Bud. He loved helping and working with the children at church.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Mary Kathryn Winter; brother William Humphries; sons Ronnie Wayne Humphries and Heath Edwin Humphries; and daughter Shannon Humphries.
He is survived by loving wife Juanita Carol Humphries; daughters Theresa Humphries, Rhonda Gail Humphries and Nicole Michelle Humphries; one sister Annah R. Thomas of Geneva, Alabama; as well as many great nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other great friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Friday, September 12th at 2:00 p.m. at the Butlerville Cemetery. Arrangements by Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe, Arkansas. To view the online registry, www.smithfamilycares.com/westbrook
