Clarice Ella Bond McClard, born in Story, Arkansas March 16th, 1932 went to her heavenly home February 25, 2013.She was the daughter of Lawrence and Leatrice Bond of Bismarck.
She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1950 and attended Nursing School in Hot Springs. Her plans changed and she became the most wonderful mother in the world to four daughters and one son. She became a stay at home mother who loved and nurtured like no other. As her babies grew older she began working at Nahas Sewing Factory. From there she was hired at OBU where she worked for numerous years. After retiring from OBU, she went to work for Sourthern LP Gas to be closer to home and care for her parents. Her final job was at Dig This Nursery where she enjoyed her favorite hobby, planting flowers. She also loved reading, writing poetry, sewing, knitting, crocheting and beautiful crafts.
She was a member of Oak Bower Church in Bismarck where she enjoyed fellowship with many friends and their families.
She is survived by three brothers, Cleve Bond, A.J. Bond, Paul Bond and her beautiful sister and best friend Velzene Wilson. She is also survived by four daughters who loved her dearly, Debbie Norwood, Robin Phelan, Sandie Orr and Penny McClard and one son, Wayne McClard, who was her hero.
She has seven grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Shanna Allen, Shane Moore, Mark Phelan, Laura Siddons, Britt Hughes, Jeremy McClard and Heather Venable.
Her nine great grandchildren blessed her later years with laughter and love-- Alex, Landon, Kylee and Kamryn Hughes, Audrey and Max Phelan, Laney Allen, Zachary Moore and Hannah Gossage.
She enjoyed a lifelong friendship with Dickie Garrett and a more recent friendship with her adopted daughter Caitlin Randall.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving grandson Kyle Whisenant.
Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. There will be no formal services.
