Clifford "Cliff" Wherley

Clifford Charles Wherley "Chuck", age 72, of Hot Springs, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

He was born on October 5, 1950, in Peoria, Illinois, the son of Clifford Wherley and Velma Rodgers Wherley.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Glen Wherley. 

Chuck immersed himself in various hobbies that brought him joy. He had a great passion for reading which allowed him to broaden his horizons and explore different worlds through literature. Solitaire was one of his treasured pastimes where he found solace and relaxation.

Chuck's legacy extended into the community through his involvement in organizations such as the Eagles and the Boy Scouts. He dedicated his time and energy, making a positive impact on the lives of others. Cliff's altruism, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand will be remembered by all who benefited from his kindness.

Chuck leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to live on through the memories shared with those fortunate enough to have known him. Although he may no longer be physically present, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Teresa Wherley; two sons, Justin Wherley and Chance Wherley; one grandson, James Roberson; two brothers, Benny Wherley and Steve Wherley; two sisters, Paula Dillinger and Sandra Groom; nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
