Constance Elizabeth "Connie" DiFlorio, 66, passed away of a long-term illness on Monday, October 16, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-four years, Jerry. She is survived by her three sons and five grandchildren: Vincent DiFlorio of Billings, Montana and his daughter, Shania DiFlorio, of Wilkes Barre, PA; Anthony DiFlorio, his wife, Jamie, and their four children, Naomi, Annie Mae, Esther, and Silas of Little Rock; and Nicholas DiFlorio of Spokane, WA. She also leaves behind two sisters, Joanne Davis of Fuquay Varina, NC and Mary Lou Cuomo of Millburn, NJ.
Connie was an active resident and dear friend at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Little Rock. She was well-known for leading the exercise class, passing out the weekly menus, and signing birthday and "get well" cards for the residents and staff. She prided herself in her Italian heritage, her costume jewelry, her custom-made greeting cards, and her fifty year loyalty to her favorite soap opera.
To her sons, she was "Ma" or "Mommy". To her grandchildren, she was "MaMa D", and to anyone who tried in vain to get her attention, she was "CONNIE!". Her very Southern daughter-in-law and grandchildren loved to tease her about her thick New Jersey accent every time she asked for a cup of "cwoffee", which always gave her a good laugh.
Connie loved her family and friends very much, and she will be greatly missed by many.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Robinson and at St. Vincent Infirmary, Little Rock for their many kindnesses and patient compassion.
A memorial service in Connie's honor will be held at Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 519 Donovan Briley Rd., North Little Rock on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 3:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Terry Coomer, Hope Baptist Church, Sherwood.
Arrangements by Little Rock Funeral Home, (501) 224-2200.
