Crystal Gilbert

Crystal Lynn Gilbert, 67, passed away on August 15, 2026, in Cabot, Arkansas. She was born on July 14, 1959, in Atlantic, Iowa, to Ben and Dorothy Mackrill.

Crystal lived with a spirit of adventure and creativity. She loved the outdoors and was always up for an adventure. She had a creative soul, a love for music and muscle cars, and a heart for helping others.

She shared 45 years of marriage with her husband, Tony Gilbert, building a life and family together. As a mom, Crystal encouraged her children to live life to the fullest. One of the lessons she passed down was not to save the special dishes for a special occasion, because every day was a special occasion. It was more than something she said—it reflected the way she believed life was meant to be lived: fully, gratefully, and without waiting for the “right” moment to enjoy the gifts in front of you.

Crystal’s life was marked by remarkable strength and perseverance. Even through seasons of pain and physical challenges, she continued to share her faith and serve others in whatever ways she could. Her circumstances may have changed what she was able to do, but they never took away her desire to encourage, create, help, and give. Her faith remained an important part of who she was and how she lived.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Dorothy Mackrill.

Crystal is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tony Gilbert; their daughter, Amber, and her husband, Cory; their son, Philip, and his wife, Misty; their grandchildren, Aidan, Ayleigh, Brody, and Noelle; and Crystal’s brothers, Ben Mackrill and Brett Mackrill, and Brett’s wife, Michele, along with their two children.

Crystal leaves behind more than memories. She leaves a reminder to embrace the adventure, use the special dishes, help others when you can, hold tightly to your faith, and treat every ordinary day as the special occasion that it is.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 21, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home in Beebe, Arkansas. A service honoring Crystal’s life will be held Saturday, August 22, at 10:00 a.m., also at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home. Online guest book at www.smithfamilycares.com
