Cynthia Lee Kitchens

Cynthia Lee Kitchens, of Alexander, peacefully passed away on March 7, 2026. She was born on January 5, 1954, in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Cynthia leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering support that touched everyone around her. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and cherished her.

Affectionately known as Grandma and Nanna to her grandchildren, Cynthia was a pillar of love, comfort, and strength within her family. Even in the face of unimaginable loss—the tragic accident that took the lives of her first husband, Wayne Perry, Sr., and her only daughter, Jennifer Lynn Perry—she remained resilient and steadfast for those who depended on her, especially her son, Wayne Perry, Jr.

Cynthia’s empathy and compassion were felt by everyone who knew her. She created a safe and welcoming space where loved ones could be themselves, feel heard, and know they were supported. She celebrated every success, offered comfort during hardships, and was her family’s most devoted cheerleader. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she took great pride in encouraging their dreams, nurturing their confidence, and supporting their passions.

In 2002, Cynthia married Robert Kitchens, and the two shared many years together until his passing in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brown; and siblings, Bill Brown and Laurie Bayliss. Cynthia became a grandmother at just 42 years old, and from that moment on, her love and influence were woven deeply into the lives of her family.

She is survived by her loving son, Wayne Perry, Jr.; her granddaughters, Jennifer Perry (Franz Holthoff) and Christina Copeland; her siblings, Diane Flanagan and Michael Brown; and her daughter-in-law, Nannette Copeland. Her family will forever cherish her unwavering love, her strength, and the many ways she shaped their lives.
