Cynthia "Cindy" Tillery

 

Cynthia Burks Tillery was born on November 16, 1962, in Houston, Texas, and brought home to Goosepond in 1972. On September 16, 1978, she married the love of her life Darrell Tillery with Ersel Tillery officiating.

 She went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Burks and Betty Burks; her brother William (Bubba) Burks; her sister Donna Hess; maternal grandparents Edmond Merriott and Zelle Dodd Merriott; and her paternal grandparents Andy Burks and Lilie May Elrod Burks.

Cindy loved reading and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed going to concerts, eating Mexican food and making trips to Goodwill with her sisters. Cindy loved her family with all of her heart and looked forward to the time spent with Kelsea. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Darrell Tillery; her only son, Justin Tillery; two granddaughters, Kelsea Tillery and Alexis Tillery; her sister, Patricia Williams; and her bonus daughter, Amanda Tillery. She loved all of her Tillery family that she was a part of for 45 years, Gilbert Tillery Jr. (Daddy), Betty White (Mama), four sisters, Debbie Grant, Sherry Chambers, Renee Simmons, and Wendy Landes and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2023, in the Old Union Primitive Baptist Church, Charles Smith and Danny Tillery officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery, Lonsdale.

Visitation will be 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Friday, November 17, 2023, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Wesley Grant, Mike Hanson, Seth Johnson, Jeremy Chambers, Blake Breshears, and Monte Curtis.

Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Curtis, Jay Weige, Jeff Dickson, Richard (Sarge) Andrews. Also, a special thank you to Genesis Cancer Center, Home Hospice staff, and Dr. Robert Muldoon for their loving care.
