D. M. Beck, age 89, of Black Springs, died Wednesday, July 8, 2015. He was born on July 1, 1926 in Alf, Arkansas, the son of David Monroe Beck and May Carter Beck. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Colby Graves; two brothers, Raymond Beck and Richard Beck; and his sister, Rena White. He worked as a millwright and in later years for the U. S. Forest Service. He was a member of the Norman First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Rose Beck of Black Springs; five children and their spouses, Sharon Redmon of Mena, Lynn and Jerry Cogburn of Fancy Hill, Jan and Buzzy Graves of Norman, Kenneth Beck of Norman and Noel Beck of Mena; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; his sister, Ruth Sherman of Mena; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 11, 2015, in the Norman First Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Sherman officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Head Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Royce Beck, Jeremy Cogburn, Casey Graves, Clint Graves, Cheyenne Graves and David Beck. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
