Dale Eugene Reynolds

March 8, 1952 — June 23, 2024

Dale Eugene Reynolds

Beloved uncle, brother, cousin, and friend…

Dale Eugene Reynolds, age 72, of Flower Mound, TX, formerly of Glenwood, Arkansas was born on March 8, 1952 in East St. Louis, Illinois and peacefully left this earth to be with the Lord on June 23,2024, surrounded by family and friends.

Dale is preceded in death by his father and mother, Everette and Myrtle Reynolds; brothers, Aaron, Charles, and Carroll Reynolds, sister, Shirley Pennock, and nephew, Scott Reynolds. Dale is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jerry McCoy of Flower Mound, TX; sister-in-law, Brenda Reynolds-Battles of St. Simon’s, Georgia; nieces Sheri Volner, Melody Michael, Stephanie Irizarry, and Valerie Sandow and nephew, Marvin Pennock, Jr.

Dale was a living, walking miracle. At age 4, he was tragically hit by a drunk driver and sustained a head injury that would not only affect him, but his family and friends for generations. Although given limitations by the medical and educational communities of the day, he survived and thrived. Although he never had a formal education, Dale was always able to interact with families and friends making us all laugh. Growing up he loved watching his brothers work on cars, watching the Greats and Grandma play pitch, and enjoyed playing “Annie, Annie over” or checkers with his nieces. But what he loved most was fishing, listening to Elvis, coloring, eaves dropping, chocolate malts, and most of all his beloved Dr. Pepper! He was a faithful Arkansas Razorback and St. Louis Cardinal fan.

In 2001, Dale moved from Glenwood, Arkansas to Flower Mound, Texas to live with his sister and brother-in-law. Dale successfully learned to do many activities of daily living that most of us take for granted. At that time, he stated that for the first time in his life, he “felt like a real boy”. Dale made many friends through Avid Adult Day Stay including Billy and Shawn. They were known as the Three Amigos. These friendships were priceless to Dale, and were so appreciated by his family. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Lake Village Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for providing excellent care for Dale for the past two months. You are truly Five Star!

A celebration of life will be held at Smith Funeral Home on Friday, June 28th, in Glenwood, Arkansas at 209 N 3rd Street at 2:00 pm. Dale will be laid to rest in the Glenwood Cemetery along side his parents and two of his brothers. In honor of Dale, we would like to celebrate him by wearing his favorite things: Razorback, Razorback red, Dr. Pepper, or Elvis attire.

Pallbearers will be Tom Michael, Tony Irizarry, Evan Green, Matthew Green, Eric Wehunt, and Ronnie Reynolds.
